About You and the Role

The Benefits & Payroll Specialist will be the go-to person supporting HRBP’s for multiple clients across multiple jurisdictions and industries for all payroll and benefit administration needs. The ideal candidate is capable of helping clients with complex payroll problems, by finding and implementing unique, customized solutions across multiple platforms and ensuring adherence to all legislative requirements across multiple jurisdictions. You bring skills such as attention to detail, stellar written and verbal communication, organization, and data analysis. 
 
You thrive in environments where you don’t know the answer but are willing to do the work and figure it out. You enjoy payroll and benefits administration from the ground up and working in a fast-paced and changing environment. You find joy in meaningful work and delivering excellent client results. We are looking for an Arizona-based Payroll & Benefits Specialist, specifically with 2+ years of direct payroll and benefits experience, to join our team. This position is primarily remote, with some onsite (up to 5%) support at various client sites. As such, local and international travel may be required from time to time based on business needs.

What You Will Do
  • Payroll: Support a team of HR Business Partners who are working with modern clients to support their payroll needs - offering extensive knowledge of payroll functions. 
  • Benefits Administration: Support benefits administration, implementation and design for various clients across the USA.
  • Day-to-day HR support: Support a team of HR Business Partners who are working with modern clients to be their day-to-day HR solution which includes onboarding, offboarding, general HR administration, employee relations and investigations, health and safety program management, and other HR disciplines. 
  • Compliance:,  Ensuring all HR processes and payroll & benefits are aligned with local employment laws and issues, offering guidance and corrections as required. This includes but is not limited to creating and supporting HR audits such as  I9’s, tax audits, and payroll audits as well as implementing policies, handbooks, and other HR programs. 
  • Software Management: Review and manage client software/HRIS/Payroll system updates, and changes and spearhead implementation where necessary.
  • On-site HR Support: Support clients with the above-mentioned activities or any other support required such as attending team meetings, workplace investigations, inspections, and more. 

 
Who You Are
  • A minimum of 3-5 years in a client-facing HR support role with 2+ years in Payroll & Benefits. 
  • A degree or diploma in HR or related field, preferably with a background in Payroll.
  • Professional HR designation (SHRM) or payroll certification is an asset 
  • HR Compliance: Well-versed in respective Employment legislation, and other relevant regulations (Health and Safety, Pay Equity, Accessibility Act, Worker’s Compensation, etc). 
  • Payroll Compliance: Thorough knowledge of employee benefits including 401K, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, ERISA, FMLA, and other leaves of absence  requirements 
  • Data Analysis: ability to analyze data, documents, reports, etc., with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Technology: experience with HR systems & programs including Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and HRIS
  • Payroll: experience processing payroll for multiple clients across numerous jurisdictions and platforms. 
  • Benefits Administration: experience managing employee benefits programs including health, dental, retirement and other plans. Proven ability to manage high-volume requisitions efficiently and accurately. 
  • A true passion for HR: this means staying up to date with trends in the market and having an interest in how HR will evolve 10 to 15 years from now.
  • Organizational skills: clients rely on our team to be very organized and efficient in their approach to solving the client's problem and implementing the solutions.
  • Time Management: Self-motivated and the ability to be flexible to meet client needs, deadlines and time management budgets.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: our team needs to interact with many of the client's employees at various levels of the organization and must provide exceptional and professional customer service at all times.

  • Total compensation up to $72,500 - $88,000 annually, a combination of base salary ($65,000-$80,000) and annual performance-based bonuses.

Compensation

$65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
